Cloudforecast reports are meant to be simple and easy to read. In less than 30 seconds, you'll know exactly what needs your attention. There are five main sections in our email report sent daily to your inbox:

  1. Subject Line
  2. Today's Spend & Forecast Alerts
  3. Daily Usage
  4. Monthly Spend
  5. Product/Region/Tag Charts

Even before opening your email, you'll know right away in your subject line if something needs your attention with the status provided right there. As you move down the report, you'll notice we designed it to provide a quick summary up top and then more specific details as you scroll down your report.

More more information on how to customize this report to fit your use case can be found in our Report Configuration knowledgebase article. Below is a quick run through on our report and how everything is calculated.

Subject Line

Our subject line shows the a status of your AWS health, reporting date and your company name. We take the most critical status from the report and then display it in the subject line. Example scenario: If there is a portion of cloud service that is "Critical", we display it in the subject line to show that something needs your attention.

Today's Spend & Forecast Alerts

Todays view and Forecast Alert is located on the top of the report. This area provides a  summary on "Todays" spend, and on areas that are "Stormy" and "Cloudy" status.

In the example above, the Global Daily Usage (7day average), and Database Migration Service exceeded the stormy thresholds and EC2 exceeded the cloudy threshold set in the Report Configuration. With the information in hand, you can easily scroll down in your report and review those areas that need might your in the charts. By providing this summary, this will save you time since you can easily prioritize what is important to look at.
